Announcement on Hiring New SLIC Beta Trainers – Annonce de l’embauche de formateur·trice·s Bêta à l’ICLS
Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf (CCSD) and Sign Language Institute Canada (SLIC) are thrilled to announce our new Beta Trainers: Imran Hakamali, Rae-Mairi Richardson, Stephanie Lamy-Therrien, and Charline Savard. They will begin on Monday, June 27, 2022. They will be training the new trainees who are Deaf from BPOC, Indigenous, LGBTQIA2S, and LSQ group and have them become community-based sign language instructors across Canada. They will work closely with the Alpha trainer on the current sign language E-learning modules, webinars, Com- mon European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) training and a goal to receive SLIC sign language instructor certification.
As our CCSD-SLIC Beta trainers, Imran Hakamali works as an ASL Instructor at Vancouver Com- munity College, Vancouver, British Columbia; Rae-Mairi Richardson works as Sign Support Pro- fessional Worker/ASL Instructor at Saskatchewan Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Regina, Saskatchewan; Charline Savard works as a Coordinator, CB Linguistic Services (CBLS) LSQ ser- vices, Montreal, Quebec and Stéphanie Lamy-Therrien is employed as LSQ instructor with CB Linguistic Services (CBLS).

La Société culturelle canadienne des Sourds (SCCS) et l’Institut de la langue des signes du Ca- nada (ISLC) sont heureux d’annoncer l’arrivée de nouveaux·elles formateur·trice·s Bêta. Imran Hakamali, Rae-Mairi Richardson, Stephanie Lamy-Therrien et Charline Savard entreront en fonc- tion le lundi 27 juin 2022 et formeront les stagiaires sourd·e·s des groupes PANDC, LGBTQIA2S et LSQ pour les former à l’instruction communautaire en langue des signes partout au Canada. Les formateur·trice·s Bêta travailleront en étroite collaboration avec la formatrice Alpha sur les modules actuels d’apprentissage en ligne de la langue des signes, les webinaires et la formation sur le Cadre européen commun de référence pour les langues (CECR), avec l’objectif de recevoir la certification d’instruction en langue des signes de l’ISCL.
Les nouvelles recrues Beta du CCSD-ISLC sont Imran Hakamali, instructeur ASL au Vancouver Community College, à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique, Rae-Mairi Richardson, profession- nelle de soutien de la langue des signes et instructrice ASL aux Saskatchewan Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, à Regina, en Saskatchewan. Charline Savard travaille comme coordonnatrice des services LSQ à Services linguistiques CB (SLCB) à Montréal, au Québec, et Stéphanie Lamy-Therrien travaille comme instructrice LSQ à Services linguistiques CB (SLCB).
